The National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) is the central service of the State’s direct administration, under the supervision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It carries out regular inspections and ensures compliance with regulations, particularly fire safety regulations.

  • 1st risk category: uses – type IV (Schools) and V (Hospitals and Nursing Homes);
  • 2nd; 3rd; and 4th risk category: all uses – type (except the 2nd risk category of use: type I – Residential).
  • Checking that the approved or licensed Fire Safety in Buildings (SCIE) conditions have been maintained;
  • Verify the implementation of the Self-Protection Measures (SPM) approved by the ANEPC.

The frequency of ANEPC inspections depends on the risk category of the establishment.

  • Category 1: 6-year period
  • Category 2: 5-year periodicity
  • Category 3: 4-year period
  • Category 4: 3-year period
